YOU'RE A BUYER: WHERE DO YOU EVEN START?
If you're like most buyers, you've been banging around the internet looking at homes. You probably have multiple apps on your phone alerting you to the newest listing. We don't blame you, we have them too. now you’re ready to get serious, but where do you even start?
1. Choose Your Agent
If you're reading this, you have found our site, so welcome! Whether it's your first home or fourth home, the process can be overwhelming. Our job is to be your guide and to help make the process as smooth as possible. As Buyer Agents, we wear many hats: tour guide, researcher, negotiator, mind reader and sometimes your therapist. It's an emotional process and we understand that. Head over to our agent bio pages and learn more about us. Be sure to look at our social media pages too. This is a partnership and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible.
2. Determine Your Purchase Power
Once you've connected with an agent, the next step is to determine your purchasing power. Different people have different needs. Different properties require different loans. We can help you sort through it all and suggest some lenders.
3. Find the Right Property and Location
We'll listen to what you want and then help you focus your search. Together, we'll sift through all the listings on the market — we're members of both the Triangle MLS and the Alamance MLS. Be prepared to answer a lot of questions from us. That's how we can best serve you. Where your kids go to school and where you work and play are the biggest factors in where you live. We'll help you find a home that best fits your lifestyle.
4. Go Under Contract
Congratulations! You've found the perfect property! We'll help you write up your offer and negotiate the contract on your behalf. Along the way to the closing table, we'll help you navigate inspections and any repairs, your loan, the attorney, movers, utilities, pretty much all the different parts involved in buying a home. We created this flowchart for you to download. It gives you a snapshot of the process and how all the pieces work together. Tack it to your refrigerator so you can refer to it as often as you need.
5. Review the buyer flowchart for a detailed layout of the process.
